Easy Simple Cake Recipe For Beginners
This easy simple cake recipe can be easily modified and you can add the flavors you like. This super easy simple cake recipe is perfect for beginners to make homemade cakes from scratch. It is a plain cake recipe and as I already mentioned you can add your favorite flavors like vanilla extract, chocolate flavor or whatever as you wish. Just add few drops of vanilla extract (2 drops is good enough) if you wish to make vanilla flavored cake. You can try other flavors as well.
So here is how you can make homemade cake from scratch using this easy simple cake recipe.
I actually used wheat flour that are usually used to make wheat flat breads (not whole wheat flour) to make this plain cake and added red cherries for simple and easy decoration which added some color to this plain cake and made it look more colorful and delicious.
You can use all purpose flour or cake flour as you wish, which will make it even more soft!
This is a very simple cake recipe to make a basic, delicious cake. When you bake the cake following this simple cake recipe, the servings will be about 10 to 12. It is perfect for a small family who need a quick dessert to enjoy for dinner.
Ingredients for easy simple cake recipe for beginners
Flour 1 cup
Baking powder 2 teaspoons
butter at room temperature 1/2 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Whole Milk 3/4 cup
You can use 2 drops of your favorite flavor extract (or use as mentioned in the directions in the bottle of extract that you use)
Preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
Mix flour and baking powder in a large bowl.
Mix together, melted butter and sugar in another bowl.
Beat eggs in a different bowl, and add this to the butter sugar mixture.
Add the egg sugar butter mixture to the flour, and mix well together.
Add the milk to the batter and stir well.
Grease the cake pan with butter and pour the cake batter to the pan.
Bake for about 35 minutes.
Baking times in different types of ovens can slightly vary, so insert a toothpick in the center of the cake to see if the cake is completely cooked. If the toothpick comes out clean, it means the cake is well cooked.
The cake turned out moist and little dense (since I used wheat flour) yet very tasty and super simple. It does not browns much outside, as it has a lighter yellow color outside. If you want a light cake make sure you use all purpose flour or super fine cake flour for even better texture.
There are many ways you can bake a cake in a simple way, but this recipe is incredibly simple that you can try it out at any time. In fact, I took around 15 minutes to mix all the ingredients together. Then, another half an hour to bake the cake. So your cake is actually ready within one hour time. Give it a few more minutes to cool completely, before you cut it and serve!
I simply used some red cherries to decorate the cake, by slightly pressing them on to the top of the cake, just before cutting.
It was easy and simple to do, yet looked awesome, colorful and made the cake more delicious.
Notes: My suggestion is to add 2 drops of vanilla essence to the cake batter, to bake a sweet smelling vanilla cake (you can try other flavors too!)
