I do not know why this vegetable came to my mind when I thought about foods that start with y, but maybe because how it look so bright and colorful with all that yellow color! It is such a simple vegetable that you can easily add to your dinner. You can roast it, sautee or make casseroles!
2. Yellow Moong Dal (Yellow Mung Beans)
Yellow moong dal or mung beans is actually mung beans with its skin removed.
The whole mung beans have green skin, but when the skin is removed from the dal, it looks yellow.
And yellow moong dal is so popularly used in Indian cuisine, to make so many dishes. Try this yellow moong dal dosa which is a simple Indian crepe made using yellow moong dal.

Yellow corn is one of the most popular foods that starts with the letter y. Keep in mind that corn is always not yellow corn, but we have white corn too!
Perfect boiled corn, roasted buttered corn, instant pot frozen corn on the cob, mini corn on the cob using frozen mini corn etc make great corn dishes.
