Healthy smoothies can definitely be part of your daily diet if you balance your diet with all necessary vitamins and minerals and also protein and carbohydrates. I am someone who have tried for weight loss at a phase in my life and I was quite successful. In fact, I reduced around 37 lbs in around 10 months which was a good thing.
This was few years back, and even though I don’t remember my diet exactly I am sure that I didn’t rely on smoothies completely. However, healthy smoothies was part of my diet and I carefully planned the ingredients, and I mostly used these smoothies for busy day morning breakfasts or whenever I wanted a quick snack.
You can surely have calorie rich smoothies if you have it only occasionally, since occasional treats won’t hurt you. However, if you are serious about your weight loss, one thing I want to tell you from my own experience is to avoid sugar, at least till you have reached your weight loss goal.
The best healthy smoothies for weight loss diets include those are rich in green vegetables and fruits like spinach, kale, kiwi fruits and also fruits like berries (all kind of berries including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries etc). Whatever you choose, I suggest you choosing real foods including whole fruits, vegetables, proteins, carbohydrates ( and healthy fats like avocados and olive oil in moderation) for weight loss which will help you in long term.
After you reach your goal, you can enjoy everything in a normal, just don’t overindulge and eat everything on moderation! This is what worked for me then. When you make healthy smoothies, be sure to avoid sugar as I mentioned above. Also avoid adding cream or ice cream or anything that add much fat to the food.
Although you can enjoy everything, it is best to avoid these items till you reduce your weight. This is all my suggestions from my weight loss experience. Healthy smoothies and weight loss works if you really balance your diet and choose really healthy ingredients and avoid the sugar.
