If you are not sure what is the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian diet, you can read the differences in brief here. This blog is a vegetarian food blog which includes egg recipes (vegetarian diets can vary as those including eggs and those excluding eggs in diet) but we have so many vegan recipes too in this blog.
So you can read here what is the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian diet if you are just looking for information on this or if you are trying to transition from a non vegetarian diet to a vegetarian diet or vegan diet.
What Is The Difference Between A Vegan And A Vegetarian Diet
Vegan diet is purely plant based, which means vegans do not use any animal products including honey. This is because honey is obtained from bees, which makes it an animal product.
Vegan diet does not include dairy products, eggs, meat nor fish. So all vegan recipes are naturally vegetarian recipes too, although its not vice versa always.
Most of the vegans also do not use any cosmetics or other products that may include animal products (many vegetarians too exclude using cosmetics and other products using animal products).
So if you are on a vegan diet, you wouldn’t be using any dairy products so the milk alternatives are usually coconut milk, almond milk, cashew milk etc and as a replacement for eggs, you can use flax eggs, chia seed eggs etc. See here my post on vegan baking substitutes for eggs to read about this in detail.
There are some vegan products like this Ener G egg replacer which will help you if you are on a vegan diet, which you can easily use in place of eggs while baking.
There are a lot of vegan cookbooks and vegetarian cookbooks online, which you can use to learn cooking if you are starting out on a vegan or vegetarian diet.
See my detailed blog post here on vegetarian cookbooks for beginners to read more on this topic.
You can also read my post here on how to become a vegetarian for more tips and ideas to help you with transitioning to a vegetarian diet.
In this blog, you can find a lot of vegetarian recipes as well as vegan recipes if you are trying to transition from a non vegetarian diet.
