Maple Walnut Protein Milkshake Without Protein Powder

Homemade maple walnut milkshake without refined white sugar or ice cream is creamy and delicious on its own and it is naturally sweetened with pure fresh maple syrup that pairs very well with the nutty flavor from walnuts!
This homemade milkshake is also naturally rich in protein even without using any protein powders since walnuts are high in natural plant protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 3 cups milk chilled
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup adjust to preference
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Transfer the walnuts to a good quality blender.
  • Also add the chilled milk, vanilla and maple syrup.
  • Blend until smooth, transfer the contents to glass cups, serve immediately for best results.

Notes

If serving later, you may store the milkshake in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
As I have mentioned in the post, eventhough this milkshake is sweetened with pure fresh maple syrup which is a natural sweetener, it is still a sweetener and has sugar content in it.
So if you are diabetic or if you are looking for low sugar milkshake recipes or low sugar drinks, this recipe may not be for you
