To make chocolate pancake batter:

  • Add the bisquick pancake mix in a large mixing bowl.
  • Also add the chocolate drink mix or equivalent amount of cocoa powder, sugar and cinnamon powder.
  • Mix all dry ingredients well so they are combined evenly.
  • Add milk and vanilla extract to the dry flour mixture, mix well to combine and form the pancake batter.
  • You may use a whisk so there are no lumps in the batter.
  • Add the chocolate chips to the pancake batter, mix to combine with the batter evenly.

To make the chocolate pancakes:

  • Heat a skillet or non stick pan. Grease with little oil or butter if needed.
  • Add one to two ladles of batter to the hot pan.
  • As bubbles appear on top of the pancake, carefully flip the pancake and cook the other side too.
  • Transfer the cooked chocolate pancake to a serving plate.
  • Similarly cook all chocolate pancakes and transfer them all to serving plates.
  • Top with chocolate syrup if you wish or top with maple syrup, butter, jam, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce etc or fresh fruits like sliced bananas, strawberries etc for a delicious, easy and quick breakfast or brunch!
