Ingredients

  • 2 cups watermelon slices, chilled
  • 1 cup strawberries slices, chilled or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons pure fresh maple syrup

Instructions

  • Place the watermelon slices in a high power blender.
  • Also add the sliced strawberries and pure fresh maple syrup (if using the sweetener).
  • Blend the contents until smooth, transfer to glass cups and enjoy immediately for best results!

Notes

Since watermelon has a lot of water content on it's own, adding water or any liquid is not necessary to make this smoothie, if you make sure to use a high power blender.
When you keep the watermelon slices in refrigerator for chilling, it will have some water from the fruits collected at the bottom of the container used to store the watermelon, which helps with making the smoothie so make sure not to discard the water from the watermelons!
If you use frozen watermelon slices or if there is no extra water from the fruits you use, and if you find it difficult to blend the fruits without using any liquids, you might add about ½ cup of water also to the blender but do this only if it's necessary since this is usually not required.
