Ingredients

  • 16 oz cauliflower florets I used frozen cauliflower
  • 3 cups water adjust as needed
  • salt adjust to taste

for seasoning (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the cauliflower florets in a medium sized saucepan.
  • Add water, make sure the water level is barely above the level of cauliflower florets.
  • Sprinkle salt and bring the mixture to a boil in high heat.
  • Once the water begins to boil, reduce the heat to medium and boil the cauliflower florets for another 3 minutes until tender.
  • If you boil the cauliflower florets for more time, they can get too soft and mushy. If you are using fresh cauliflower florets, you need to boil only for about 2 minutes.
  • Using a long slotted spoon, carefully transfer the boiled cauliflower to serving plate.
  • Add the olive oil and black pepper powder for seasoning (if using), enjoy as a vegetable side dish with any meal including lunch or dinner!
