Sweet Pongal With White Sugar & Milk - South Indian Sweet Pongal Without Jaggery
Sweet pongal with sugar (without jaggery) is so easy to prepare and very delicious too. It is a sweet rice dish commonly prepared in South India especially during festival times.

When the ghee is hot, add rice and moong dal and let it fry for a few minutes until the raw flavor is gone.
Add the sugar, water, milk and raisins and mix well.
Close the pressure cooker and cook till 3 whistles. This will take around 8 to 10 minutes.
After 3 whistles, switch off the pressure cooker and let it cool down.
Once the pressure cooker is cool, open it and slightly mash the cooked pongal with a spoon, to attain the consistency of a traditional pongal. Sweet pongal with sugar is ready and it tastes best when it is served hot !
