Cook Time 4 minutesminutes
pressure build up and release time 22 minutesminutes
2tablespoonsapple juice(optional, adjust to taste as needed)
Instructions
Wash the cranberries very well and add it to the instant pot.
Add the sugar also to the instant pot.
Finally add the water and mix well with the cranberries and sugar.
Close the instant pot with lid in sealing position and cook in high pressure for 4 minutes.Once the cooking is done, the pot will beep and you can press the 'keep warm/cancel' button and wait for a natural pressure release.Once the pressure is all released, carefully and slowly open the lid (it may appear a little foamy but when you stir it will be fine).
Stir the contents and you may add more sugar if needed (you can taste and decide if you need more sugar to add sweetness since it will all depend on the tartness of the cranberries that you use).
Also you may simmer the contents for about a minute for the desired consistency.Keep in mind that the cranberry sauce thickens as it cools down so you shouldn't simmer for more time.
Finally, stir in the apple juice (if using) which will help greatly with balancing the tart taste of cranberry sauce!
Transfer the prepared cranberry sauce to clean, dry and airtight glass jars and store in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks of time or you may freeze this for few more days use.
