Ingredients

  • 2 large sized bananas ripe with bright yellow skin where brown spots are only beginning to appear
  • 2 cups whole milk chilled
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or use banana flavor extract

Instructions

  • Slice the bananas and add them to the blender.
  • Also add milk, sugar and vanilla extract, blend until very smooth.
  • Transfer to glasses, serve immediately for best results!

Notes

You may also add ice creams like vanilla ice cream or banana ice cream (about 1 cup will be enough) while making this milkshake to make it even more creamy and rich.
You can also add other flavors of ice creams like strawberry ice cream to make strawberry banana milkshake, or use chocolate ice cream to make chocolate banana milkshake etc.
In fact, banana flavor goes very well with many other flavors so you can easily add more flavors or other fruits or ice cream to try different combinations of flavors!
To make this vegan, you can easily replace the milk with plant based milks like almond milk, cashew milk or oat milk.
To make vegan milkshake with bananas, I like to use cashew milk or oat milk in place of regular milk.
If you like the flavor of coconut milk, you may also use coconut milk.
Banana milkshake tastes the best when served immediately after preparation. This is because, the milkshake using bananas slightly changes in taste when kept for long and won't taste so good.
If you wish to store this milkshake for longer time to serve later, I recommend freezing the milkshake in freezer safe containers.
It is a good idea to transfer the milkshake to ice cube trays and store in the freezer, if you want to use it later (for few more days). Just before serving, you can blend the frozen milkshake in the blender for the best results!
