How To Toast Bread In Oven?
How to toast bread in conventional oven for crunchy, delicious toasted bread! Easily add toppings like spreadable butter, peanut butter, jelly or any spreads you like for a quick and easy breakfast or side!The calories that you find you here is only for plain toasted bread, not with added toppings or spreads as they can vary based on what you choose.
Servings 6 slices of toasted bread
for topping (optional):
- spreadable butter as needed (or peanut butter)
- strawberry jam or preserves as needed (or any jam or any other spread as you prefer)
Preheat oven to 400 degree Fahrenheit.
Layer a baking sheet with aluminium foil.
Place the slices of bread in a single layer in the prepared baking sheet, spaced evenly.
Place the baking pan in the preheated oven.
Bake for 4 minutes, carefully flip the slices and bake for another 3 to 4 minutes.
To add the toppings (which is optional), just spread the butter and jam or peanut butter & jam easily on the toasted bread. Or you may use any other spreads or fillings as you wish.
If you wish to toast the bread using broiler method to make more easy, quick, crunchy, browned toasted bread, press the broil setting in your oven. If it shows high and low options (some oven give that option), select high.
Preheat the oven for few minutes (I usually do for about five minutes).
Layer the baking sheet with aluminium foil (do not use parchment paper) and place the bread slices in a single layer in the baking sheet. Make sure they are evenly spaced and not crowded.
Place the baking sheet with bread slices in the preheated oven (in broiler setting) and bake for 4 minutes. Flip the slices very carefully (the oven will be very hot), and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes until the bread slices are browned and desired texture is reached.
Transfer the toasted bread immediately from the hot oven to avoid further baking, since the bread can burn really quick when you use the broiler.
