Ingredients

  • 1 cup pomegranate preferrably chilled in the refrigerator
  • 1 cup water chilled
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste

Instructions

  • Add the pomegranate and water to a blender.
  • Pulse for few seconds (about 10 seconds) so the seeds won't get blended.
  • Make sure not to blend or pulse for more time, since that will break down the seeds also causing to alter the taste of the juice.
  • Strain the contents through a fine mesh strainer.
  • (Discard the seed residue or you may save the leftovers from the seeds if you want to use it for something else).
  • Transfer the filtered juice to a glass cup.
  • Add sugar and lemon juice, stir well using a spoon until the sugar is dissolved well.
  • Add ice cubes if desired, serve immediately for best results!

Notes

You may also save the prepared pomegranate juice in the refrigerator for later use, if you are not serving it right away.
You may double or triple the recipe (or more) if you wish and for even more longer storage, you can transfer the juice to ice cube trays and freeze for longer periods.
