Add the water (or broth) in a large pot or saucepan.
Also add oil, lemon juice and enough salt (if using), heat the mixture and bring it to a boil.
Once the mixture starts boiling, carefully transfer rinsed jasmine rice to hot boiling water (make sure not to splash any water as it's very hot).
Stir the contents and close the pan with a tight fitting lid.
Reduce the heat to low and cook for 14 to 15 minutes until rice is cooked completely and there is no water left.
If the rice is perfectly cooked and if there is little water remaining at the bottom of the pan, you can keep the pan open without lid and heat for few seconds in medium heat so the leftover water is evaporated quickly.
Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and immediately transfer the pot or pan to a cool place so the rice is not further cooked in the heat.
Fluff the cooked rice gently with a fork or you may gently stir once using a good quality spatula. Too much stirring of hot rice can make it mushy, so do not stir further.
Serve immediately if you like the rice hot or allow the rice to cool down for another few more minutes (about 1o to 12 minutes) and gently fluff again so the rice will stay fluffy with each grain separate as it cools down
Enjoy the fluffy white jasmine rice with any side dishes like vegetables, curry, pickles etc as you like.
