- 1 teaspoon instant coffee
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cup chilled water may use little more as you need
- 6 ice cubes (4 to 6)
optional ingredients:
- ¼ cup milk or use coffee creamer or heavy cream
- 2 tablepoons pure fresh maple syrup or sugar or any sweetener of your choice
to make instant coffee:
We first need to make the coffee to prepare iced coffee. To make instant coffee, take ¼ cup water in a microwave safe coffee mug. Add instant coffee powder also to the mug and microwave for 30 seconds.
Once it's done, stir well using a spoon so the coffee powder is well mixed with the water and you have the instant coffee concentrate for making iced coffee.
(You may also prepare the coffee on stove top or you can use coffee maker to brew the coffee in advance and keep it chilled if that is what you prefer. However, since this is an instant iced coffee recipe, the microwave method works faster).
to make instant iced coffee:
Place about 3 to 4 ice cubes on the serving cup.
Pour the prepared coffee over the ice cubes.
Now pour half of the chilled water over the ice cubes and coffee. Top with remaining ice cubes, add the remaining chilled water also to the cup, stir well to combine. Serve immediately for best results.
If desired, add milk or coffee creamer and pure fresh maple syrup (or any preferred sweetener) to make the iced coffee more creamy & sweet.
