Ingredients

  • 16 oz rotini pasta
  • salt adjust to taste
  • 3 cups water or just barely enough to cover the pasta
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese Mexican blend or cheddar
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degree Fahrenheit.
  • Layer the pasta in a single layer in an oven safe baking dish. I used two smaller baking pans so I divided the ingredients in half and added in both pans equally. But if you use a larger pan big enough to hold the cooked pasta (as there will be more contents as it gets baked), you can just layer all the pasta in a single layer in the larger pan and bake it in a single pan. As I said, I used two smaller pans, so I put half the amount of ingredients in one pan.
  • Once the pasta is placed in a single layer in the baking pan, sprinkle the salt and add water and milk.
  • Place the butter on top and place the baking pan in preheated oven. Since I used foil pans I kept the pans on top of a cookie sheet to hold them steadily.
  • Bake the pasta for about 30 minutes.
  • Once its done, open the oven, pull out the baking pans carefully, mix the cooked pasta using a fork (which helps retain the shape of the pasta without breaking them), add the shredded cheese and mix in gently to combine with the pasta evenly.
  • Place the pan back in the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Once this is done, the pasta is cooked and the cheese is melted nicely, carefully take the hot baking pans outside.
  • Now add the heavy cream also to the pasta, mix in to combine with the cheesy pasta (using a fork) to make the delicious, creamy mac and cheese! Serve immediately for best results!
