- ½ cup oats (use a larger bowl to avoid oatmeal boiling over)
- 1 cup water
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons pure fresh maple syrup adjust to taste
- ½ cup whole milk or heavy cream
Microwave method:
In a microwave safe bowl, place the oats.
Add water, cocoa powder and cinnamon powder, mix well.
Microwave the contents for about 2 minutes in high power.
Once this is done, wait for a cooling period of another one more minute and carefully take the bowl (it could be very hot so make sure to handle carefully for safety reasons!).
Add maple syrup and milk, stir in well to combine with the oats, enjoy for breakfast brunch or snack!
Stove top method:
Place the oats and water in a saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.
Add cinnamon powder and cocoa powder, mix well, reduce the heat to medium and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the oats is cooked and soft (keep stirring while the oats is cooking so the oats won't get burnt at the bottom of the pan).
Once the oats is cooked, add the maple syrup and milk (or cream), stir in to combine and enjoy!
