- ¾ cup water
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee powder or flakes
- 2 tablespoons pure fresh maple syrup
- ¼ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup eggnog
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder for topping
microwave method
Add the water to a microwave safe coffee mug or glass cup.
Add instant coffee, maple syrup, vanilla and nutmeg, mix in using a spoon.
Heat in the microwave for about 1 minute.
Stir well using a spoon and heat for another 40 seconds.
Now add the eggnog also to the cup and stir well to combine with the rest of the ingredients.
Top with cinnamon powder and enjoy the eggnog latte while it's still hot or warm, or serve chilled whichever way you like! If serving chilled, make sure to stir the contents before serving and maybe you can add ice cubes also to make it a cold latte!
stovetop method
Place the water in a saucepan.
Add instant coffee powder (replace with espresso coffee as mentioned earlier, if you wish), maple syrup, milk, heavy cream, vanilla and nutmeg.
Heat the mixture in medium heat while stirring frequently. Once the contents are heated well and almost frothy in texture transfer the saucepan to a cooler place.
Carefully pour the contents to a coffee mug, add eggnog and stir in well to combine, top with cinnamon powder and serve hot (or chilled as you wish)!
how to substitute instant coffee with espresso coffee in this eggnog latte recipe?
If you have espresso coffee, you can easily replace the instant coffee with espresso coffee in this recipe. Since we use ¾ cup water and 2 teaspoons of instant coffee powder, just replace the water and instant coffee with ½ cup freshly brewed espresso (about 2 double shots) to make this eggnog latte if you want to make it with espresso coffee!
If you have espresso machine at home, you can also make the eggnog latte in the espresso machine and espresso coffee if you prefer it that way!
