Ingredients

  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 20 oz canned pineapples
  • 2 tablespoons pure fresh maple syrup
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Place the oatmeal in large or medium sized saucepan.
  • Add water and canned pineapples in juice, cook in medium to high heat.
  • Add milk, vanilla, maple syrup and cinnamon powder also to the pan, mix well and bring the mixture to a boil (keep stirring to avoid the oatmeal sticking to the bottom of the pan).
  • Reduce the heat to low and cook the oatmeal for another 3 to 4 minutes to reach porridge consistency (stir often).
  • Once it is done, turn off the heat and transfer the cooked pineapple oatmeal porridge to a cool place.
  • Transfer to serving bowls and serve the oatmeal while it's still warm for best results!

Notes

You can add more toppings to pineapple oatmeal porridge if you wish. Some suggestions for more toppings include sliced bananas, raisins, sweetened coconut flakes or shredded coconut (if you like coconut flavor), toasted nuts like cashews, slivered almonds etc.
