In this tropical fruit flavored oats recipe, we use canned pineapples in juice but you can also use fresh pineapples to make pineapple oatmeal if you have fresh pinepapples.
Canned pineapples are more convenient to use since they are already sliced and prepared ready to be used in recipes or you can also enjoy them as they are.
If you use fresh pineapple, make sure to remove the thick, tougher parts of the skin that are not edible and can get into the flesh of the fruit which won't get cooked.
So it is important to remove any thicker, tougher unedible parts before you add the fresh pineapple slices to the oatmeal.
Here is how you can make easy, quick and delicious pineapple oatmeal porridge perfect for breakfast or snack using canned pineapples.
How to make pineapple oatmeal porridge for breakfast?
To make pineapple oatmeal porridge, we use the following ingredients.

oatmeal 2 cups
canned pineapples in juice 20 oz
pure fresh maple syrup 2 tablespoons
water 2 cups
milk 2 cups
cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Step by step instructions
Place the oatmeal in large or medium sized saucepan.
Add water and canned pineapples in juice, cook in medium to high heat.
Add milk, vanilla, maple syrup and cinnamon powder also to the pan, mix well and bring the mixture to a boil (keep stirring to avoid the oatmeal sticking to the bottom of the pan).
Reduce the heat to low and cook the oatmeal for another 3 to 4 minutes to reach porridge consistency (stir often).
Once it is done, turn off the heat and transfer the cooked pineapple oatmeal porridge to a cool place.
Transfer to serving bowls and serve the oatmeal while it's still warm for best results!
