- ½ small size cabbage
- 2 medium size onions
- salt adjust to taste
- 4 tablespoons oil
Optional ingredients:
- ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon red chili flakes if you want it more spicier
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
Wash the cabbage well (remove any outer leaves if needed) and slice or tear the leaves in small to medium sized pieces. I just teared them roughly.
Slice the onions and add them to a pan. Also add the teared cabbage leaves.
Add oil and salt, cook in high heat for about a minute. Stir well and saute the cabbage and onions for a couple of minutes more until the onions are beginning to brown and caramelize but don't do it for longer as we don't want to lose the crunchy texture of both onions and cabbage.
Finally, if you want to add any optional ingredients listed, add them too, stir well and cook for another 1 minute in medium heat, transfer to serving plates and serve hot with rice or serve with pasta or you can use them for sandwich fillings, wraps, salads etc!
