Cucumber salads are popular salads used as sides for holiday meals and dinners.
There are different kinds of cucumber salads. Many of the cucumber salads do not use any creamy dressing though this creamy cucumber salad is one of my favorite kind of cucumber salads. This is perfect for a refreshing summer salad, potlucks, get togethers and family dinners.
You can also easily make this salad and serve as refreshing, cooling sides for outdoor barbecues during the summer season, or just enjoy this kid friendly salad with homemade dinners!

what kind of cucumbers are used for creamy cucumber salad?
You may use any variety of cucumbers that you prefer, though those with less seeds or seedless are recommended. English cucumbers will do the best in my opinion, since they are usually not bitter in taste.
English cucumbers are slight sweet in taste and have the perfect crunchy texture with delicate skin (in this recipe I recommend peeling the skin since we can use different kinds of cucumbers). If you are using English cucumbers, you may not even need to peel the skin. However, feel free to try this recipe with any variety of cucumbers that have less seeds.

- sour cream 2 cups (refrigerated)

- dill chopped 1 tablespoon (optional)
- water as needed for soaking the cucumbers
step by step instructions
- Wash the cucumbers very well, peel the green skin and slice in rounds.

- Add the sugar also to the bowl, mix well to combine with the salted cucumbers.
- You may adjust the amount of sugar based on your preference. Let this mixture sit for another 5 to 10 minutes (another step to help reduce any bitterness).
- Once the sugar is dissolved, there will be liquids left in the bowl, which you can discard now.
- Transfer the prepared cucumbers to salad serving bowl, add the sour cream and mix well to combine.
- Also mix in the dill if using.
- Serve immediately or chill the creamy cucumber salad in the refrigerator if desired, serve cold for best results!
