In this easy and simple recipe for buttered mini corn on the cob in oven or oven roasted frozen corn on the cob where each corn ear is wrapped in aluminium foil and baked with butter and black pepper.

I used frozen mini sweet corns in this roasted mini corn on the cob recipe (extra sweet mini ears of corn) and they turned out delicious. Mini corn on the cob prepared in the oven is soft, buttery and delicious.

Mini Corn On The Cob In Oven

This is a very easy and simple recipe of just 4 ingredients with a simple mixture of butter, salt and pepper to flavor the corn on the cobs, but you may also add more flavors as you like.

See my blog post on making perfect boiled corn on the cob using fresh corns here.

You can also use regular fresh corns to make corn on the cob in oven using this method.

The mini corn ears I used were extra sweet so if you are using regular corns I recommend adding a spoon of sugar to the mix to make it more sweet if you wish.

This mini corn on the cob in oven is a very kid friendly recipe and it is perfect for kids as it is more easy for them to hold with their hands and they are naturally more sweet and delicious.

I used frozen mini corns but you can also use fresh corns instead of frozen ones. I didn’t defrost the corns before baking, but you may thaw the corns in the microwave prior to baking if you wish, that will make the process even more eaier.

If you thaw or wash (if using fresh corn ears), dry the corn ears with paper towels.

I recommend using the corn on the cob made using the frozen corns to be used soon, as I do not recommend refrigerating it again after baking ( I think it is best to use any frozen foods immediately after cooking).

So here is how you can make this mini corn on the cob in the oven following this easy recipe for corn on the cob in oven with oil using frozen mini sweet corn ears.

How To Make Mini Corn On The Cob In Oven With Foil Using Frozen Mini Corn Ears?

We basically place each corn ear in seaparate foil pieces, brush them with butter mixture, then wrap the corn ears inside the foil and then bake them in the preheated oven.

Since the oven temperatures can slightly vary, the baking time also may slightly vary. If your oven gets hot fast, make sure to check a couple minutes before the time in the recipe.

We need the following ingredients for the recipe.

Ingredients For Oven Baked Mini Corn On The Cob Recipe

6 frozen mini corn ears you may use fresh corn ears as well

salt adjust to taste

6 tablespoons butter softened (may adjust the smount slighty as you prefer)

2 teaspoons black pepper powder

Steps To Follow (The Process)

Preheat oven to 450 degree Fahrenheit.

In a bowl, mix together the softened butter, salt and black pepper very well until well blended.

Line the baking sheet with foil or non slip baking mat and arrange 6 pieces of aluminium foil which will be used to wrap the corns.

Place each mini corn in the the foils and brush generously with the butter mixture. I

f the frozen corns were not defrosted earlier (I didn’t defrost the corn ears, but you may thaw it if its easier for you), the butter will solidify faster, but it is perfectly fine.

Try to brush all the sides of the corn with the butter mixture. (If you are using fresh corn ears, wash the corn ears and dry using a paper towel prior to adding the butter mixture).

Alternatively, you may also transfer the corn ears to a bowl, then pour the butter mixture on them and brush all over and then place each corn ears in the separate foils.

To roast the frozen mini corn

Carefully wrap the corn ears inside the foils and arrange the wrapped foils in a single layer in the baking sheet.

Bake for about 30 minutes by then the corns will be nicely baked in the oven.

Oven temperatures can slightly vary, so you may bake for extra few minutes like another five more minutes if needed, but try baking only for thirty minutes first since we do not want to over bake the corn (if using fresh corn ears or thawed corn ears, you may also need to reduce a couple of minutes of baking).

Once you transfer the baked corns from the oven, let it sit there for few more minutes wrapped in the foil which will make it more delicious (If you want to slightly brown the corn on the cob, you may roast the corn on the cob without the foil for a few more minutes in the oven until they begin to brown).

While the corn is still warm, remove the foil wrap and enjoy the warn mini corn on the cob for a delicious side for lunch or dinner or enjoy as a snack!

Notes: As I mentioned in the instructions, the oven temperatures can slightly vary, so you may bake for a couple of minutes or to your liking if you want to roast the corn on the cob further.

Once fully baked, you may also roast them for a few more minutes until they are lightly browned, if you wish.

Also, I used a simple seasoning of salt, butter & pepper in this recipe, but you may add more spices or flavors based on your preferences.

Instead of using the softened butter mixture with spices, you may also melt the butter and add the spices to it, and drizzle this melted butter mixture on the frozen corn on the cobs, if that is more easier to you.

Thanks for such an easy and tasty way to make these from frozen! Now I just prepare these first and let them go in the toaster oven while I prepare the rest of my meal.
Instead of butter, I basted with a light coating of mayo and seasoned with Tony Cacheres Cajun spice, and they came out plump, juicy, and full of yummy flavor.
I’ll be preparing frozen corn cobs in the oven from here on!
