Sweetened, Flavored Greek Yogurt With Honey And Vanilla

Plain greek yogurt is creamy and many people like to enjoy the plain unsweetened greek yogurt as it is.

Plain greek yogurt is creamy in texture and has many health benefits.

However, I like to sweeten plain greek yogurt with honey and flavor with ingredients like vanilla, cinnamon etc and also like to add in fruits like strawberries, peaches, blueberries, bananas etc!

They all go great with plain greek yogurt making it taste so much better!

Adding honey is one of the most easy ways to sweeten unsweetened plain yogurt and make it so delicious like a dessert!

Adding honey and vanilla to make sweetened flavored greek yogurt makes it so much more delicious and it is so simple and easy to do!

In fact, adding honey is a great natural swetener that makes yogurt & drinks like tea taste so much better.

How to sweeten greek yogurt with honey?

Sweetening greek yogurt or even regular yogurt is super easy to do if you have honey & plain yogurt at home.

You can use any good quality store bought honey and plain yogurt as you like.

I use raw honey to sweeten plain greek yogurt, which is what I recommend, but you may use any honey that you like.

Both low fat greek yogurt and full fat whole greek yogurt works well but full fat yogurt tastes the best in my opinion.

You can use your favorite store bought plain greek yogurt or make your own homemade plain greek yogurt to use in this recipe.

Just take the plain greek yogurt (full fat or low fat as you prefer) in a bowl and whisk or stir well using a spoon so it will have the perfect, creamy and smooth texture.

Then, add the honey and mix very well using the spoon so the honey is evenly mixed with the yogurt.

You can add more honey on top to make it even more delicious!

We also add vanilla extract in this recipe to make honey vanilla greek yogurt.

You can add in the vanilla extract early or just mix in the vanilla extract along with the honey.

So here is how you can make sweetened and flavored greek yogurt at home using plain greek yogurt, vanilla extract and honey!

How to make honey vanilla greek yogurt?

We use the following ingredients to sweeten and flavor greek yogurt at home!

honey 2 tablespoons

vanilla extract ½ teaspoon

Step by step instructions

Take the plain greek yogurt in a bowl.

Whisk the yogurt or stir the yogurt very well using a spoon for the best, creamy and smooth texture.

Add the vanilla extract and one tablespoon of honey and mix very well with the yogurt so the honey & vanilla are mixed evenly with the yogurt.

Top the remaining yogurt with the honey or you may mix that also with the yogurt if you prefer more sweetness for the yogurt & you can drizzle more honey on top if you wish.

Feel free to adjust the amount of honey as you prefer!

You can also add nuts like walnuts, almonds etc as topping or use fresh fruits like sliced strawberries, peaches, mangoes etc or add bluberries, pomegranates etc for colorful, more delicious yogurt.

You can also add granola, fruit syrups or fruit sauces (fruit compote) to make more more flavored yogurts easily.
