Tips to make plain greek yogurt taste better

Add sweeteners like honey:

Natural sweeteners like honey can greatly improve the taste of many things a lot better!

I like adding honey to sweeten chamomile tea to make it taste better and I found that adding honey to greek yogurt makes it tastes better as well!

I also like adding honey to green tea to make sweetened honey green tea!

To sweeten greek yogurt with honey, for one cup of greek yogurt, you just need one to two tablespoons of honey to make it taste better.

Just add the honey and stir in well to mix with the greek yogurt and if desired, you may also top with a little bit more honey and gently stir in to float in the top.

If you follow a vegan diet and if you do not use honey, you may use other sweeteners like stevia, pure fresh maple syrup etc whichever you prefer!

Even adding regular white sugar can improve the taste of greek yogurt, though it is not recommended if you are trying to enjoy it healthy.

Adding more flavors like vanilla and cinnamon:

Adding more flavors like vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, sweet almond extract, strawberry essence, rose essence etc are great ways to improve the taste of greek yogurt easily.

For one cup of plain greek yogurt, you can add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon powder etc to make it taste way better!

In fact, adding honey and vanilla to the greek yogurt make it taste the best in my opinion & I have this simple and easy recipe for honey vanilla greek yogurt here!

Adding fresh fruits or frozen fruits:

Adding fresh fruits like sliced bananas, strawberries etc or frozen fruits like frozen berries is a wonderful way to improve the taste of greek yogurt!

My favorite fruits to add to yogurt are fresh sliced bananas, fresh berries like blueberries, raspberries or sliced strawberries.

It is also great to add sliced peaches, sliced mangoes , pineapple etc for a more tropical flavor!

In fact, you can add any sliced fresh fruits or frozen fruits as you prefer!

Adding fruit sauces(fruit compote), jam or fruit butter :

Fresh fruit compotes or fruit sauces, fruit butter or even fruit jams are addition to any yogurt!

You can just stir in fruit sauces or top with fruit sauces as you like!

I like to use strawberry sauce, roasted strawberry sauce, peach sauce, blueberry sauce, blueberry jam, strawberry honey jam, orange jam etc in greek yogurt which all easily make the greek yogurt taste so much better!

Fruit butters like banana butter & strawberry apple butter are also great to be added with plain yogurt like greek yogurt which naturally makes them more sweet and flavorful!

Adding flavored or plain applesauce is another easy, simple and great way to improve the taste of greek yogurt.

Adding nuts:

Adding nuts like raw nuts whole or sliced as you prefer, sweetened or plain roasted or toasted nuts can add more flavor & texture to plain greek yogurt if you like the taste of nuts!

My favorite nuts to add in yogurt are almonds, pistachios, cashews etc.

There are also plenty of other ways to add flavor to greek yogurt like adding granola or cooked oatmeal porridge, adding savory ingredients or seasonings like red chili flakes, olive oil etc as you do in for salad dressings, make yogurt parfaits and more!

How to make greek yogurt less sour

To make greek yogurt less sour, the best options are to sweeten the yogurt with natural sweeteners like honey, stevia, pure fresh maple syrup etc.

My favorite sweetener to go with yogurt is always raw honey.

I also like adding fruit sauces or syrups like strawberry sauce, peach sauce etc that will naturally sweeten the yogurt and make it less sour in taste.

You can also make yogurt drinks like Indian style plain yogurt lassi, mango lassi, strawberry lassi, peach lassi etc or yogurt smoothies to make it more tasty & less sour.

I personally prefer using regular yogurt when making lassi or smoothies, but you can also greek yogurt to make the smoothies and lassi more healthy and that way you can also reduce the sour taste and improve the flavor of greek yogurt easily.
