Corn On The Cob Using Frozen Corn Without Husks (Or Fresh Corn With Husks)
As I mentioned, this microwave method works well for both fresh corn ears with husks and frozen corn ears without husks.
I often use frozen mini corn on the cobs, since that is what I almost always have in the freezer.
It is super easy to make corn on the cobs with fresh or frozen corn without husks, because you just need to place one corn ear in a microwave safe plate, cook for 3 minutes, carefully flip and cook for another couple of minutes and it's done!
If you use large sized fresh corn ear or frozen mini corn ear, this method works well.
If you use fresh corn ear with husks, you don't even need to remove the husks before cooking it in the microwave.
In fact, the husks helps as a covering which helps with the distribution of steam and so you can just cook the corn on the cob in microwave with the husks itself.
Once the cooking is done, allow the corn on the cob to cool down for a few minutes, then easily remove the husks or any silky fibres and then season the prepared corn on the cob with salt, pepper, oil ect and enjoy!
How Long To Cook Corn On The Cob In The Microwave?
To make corn on the cob in microwave oven, you can place the single corn ear in a microwave safe plate and cook for 3 minutes on one side, then carefully flip the corn and cook for another 2 minutes.
So you can cook the corn on the cob for about 5 minutes in total whether you use a medium fresh corn on the cob in husks or a mini frozen corn on the cob without husks.
If the corn on the cob is relatively larger in size, you may cook for an additional one minute (or one minute less for smaller sized corn ear) until the corn kernels are well cooked, soft and plump.
