You can even use greek yogurt to make this delicious drink if you like the taste of greek yogurt!

Indian style yogurt drink known as lassi is one of the most popular Indian drinks.

Lassi is a drink prepared in India with yogurt (or curd which is more commonly available in India) as one of the main ingredients.

More popular variations of Indian lassi includes mango lassi, strawberry lassi etc.

In fact, mango lassi is one of the most famous Indian drinks ever, prepared using mangoes (or mango pulp), yogurt, milk etc!

It is much like a smoothie drink but diffrerent in flavors and texture slightly.

We usually use cardamom, rose water or rose extract to flavor lassi drinks in India, though using vanilla extract is much easier nowadays as it is more easily available & found in most kitchens!

How to make lassi sweet yogurt drink?

We use the following ingredients to make easy, homemade, delicious and creamy sweet yogurt lassi which is one of the most popular yet simple Indian drinks.

yogurt (thick) 2 cups chilled (or use curd or dahi popular in India)

milk 1 cup chilled

sugar 4 tablespoons

cardamom powder ¼ teaspoon (or use ½ teaspoon vanilla extract)

rose essence ½ teaspoon (optional, you may also use about 1 teaspoon of rose water instead)

Step by step instructions

Transfer the yogurt to a good quality blender.

Also add the milk, sugar and cardamom powder (or vanilla extract) to the blender. If using rose essence or rose extract (or rose water), also add that.

Blend until smooth, serve immediately for best results!

This plain yogurt lassi is served the best as soon as it is prepared!

However, if you want to serve it later, you can store this in a jug or pitcher and keep it refrigerated until ready to use.

Lassi tastes the best when it’s cold.

So always make sure to use chilled yogurt and milk for preparing lassi drink, which can be served immediately.

When stored in the refrigerator properly, lassi stays fresh for about 3 to 4 days!
