Creamed corn with frozen corn, heavy cream and cheddar cheese makes easy, simple and delicious creamed corn for holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas or everyday dinner or lunch!

Creamed corn is a fantastic side dish for any meal if you love corn in general. The creamy texture of the corn is achieved by using heavy cream and cheese (I used cheddar cheese, and yes, it works!) and the best thing is that we make this creamed corn using frozen corn which makes everything so easy and convenient!

However, you can use fresh corn kernels to make this creamed corn as well, if that's what you have! I always have bags of frozen corn in my freezer (though I buy fresh corn as well when it's in season) so we can always enjoy corn dishes!

how to make creamed corn with frozen corn?

step by step instructions to make easy creamed corn with frozen corn
Step 1 - Place the frozen corn in a medium sized sauce pan (do not use a large sized wide pan, use a medium sized one so the corn will get covered in liquid as you cook).

Step 2 - Add the milk, heavy cream, sugar and butter.

Step 3 - Cook in high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. At this point, the butter will melt and the frozen corn will soften and break down so you can stir the contents. Make sure to stir the contents, to avoid the milk from boiling over.

Step 4 - Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until the corn is cooked and soft. Stir in between.

Step 5 - Add black pepper powder and stir well to combine.

Step 6 - Finally add the shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce pan, and as the cheese melts, mix well to combine with the other ingredients. After you add cheese, you can see that the mixture thickens quickly, so move the saucepan from the heat and keep in a cool place (after you add cheese and stir well, and about a minute later as the mixture thickens).

Step 7 - Stir once more and serve the creamed corn, enjoy!
