You may use any maple sweetened yogurt to use in this recipe or you can make your own using plain yogurt or plain greek yogurt and pure fresh maple syrup!

If you are out of fruits like bananas or strawberries or if you just want to make a plain yogurt smoothie with no bananas or any fruits at all, this is the perfect, easy yogurt smoothie that you can quickly make at home.
In fact, this drink is similar to the Indian drink lassi made using yogurt or curd as the main ingredient!
However, you may also add frozen fruits like frozen sliced bananas, pineapple chunks, strawberries etc if you wish to have any kind of fruit flavor in your smoothie!

Substitute for maple yogurt
If you do not have maple yogurt at home, you can substitute the maple yogurt with one cup plain unsweetened yogurt and 3 tablespoons pure fresh maple syrup.
(2 percent or whole milk yogurt will taste the best though you may use non fat milk and yogurt as well)
You can use regular yogurt or greek yogurt, whichever you likes the best, if you want to make your own maple yogurt.
If you do not want the maple syrup flavor at all, you may simply use sugar or honey or any of your favorite sweeteners as you like!

Add the maple yogurt and milk to a blender, blend until smooth!
Transfer to glass cups and serve immediately!
How long does yogurt smoothie lasts?
The yogurt smoothie tastes the best when it is served immediately.
However, you may keep it chilled in the refrigerator or even keep it frozen in ice cube trays for longer storage.
If you are storing in the refrigerator, it will last fresh for another 1 to 2 days and make sure to blend the smoothie just before serving again, so it will have the best texture!
