How long do you need to steam eggs in instant pot?
The steaming time for eggs in the instant pot can vary based on your preference for the doneness of the eggs.
If you prefer soft boiled eggs, or eggs with a texture of runny yolks you need to cook them only for very few minutes - about 5 minutes.
Personally, I prefer a pressure cooking time of 7 to 9 minutes (depending on whether I go for a medium boiled or hard boiled egg yolk), followed by a natural pressure release of 5 minutes and then a manual release, for a bright, orange colored yolk which is also completely cooked.
As you increase the cooking time, the texture will turn further harder.
If you want perfect hard boiled eggs with yellow yolks, I would recommend cooking for at least 10 minutes and then you can let the pressure release naturally for about 5 minutes and then do a gradual manual release of pressure.
Overcooking of eggs can lead to a more hardened, bland and rubbery yolk texture with slight discoloration like light greenish yellow yolk, which is not recommended.
Also I prefer to place the eggs in an ice water bath for about 10 minutes rather than the minimum recommended amount of time of five minutes, because I feel that way it's much more easier to peel.
What is 5-5-5 method of instant pot boiled eggs?

Older eggs tend to peel off easily than fresh eggs.
So I always give some extra minutes in the ice bath for the eggs to cool off completely, before I try to peel them which seem to help!
Also, it is a good idea to tap the boiled eggs gently all over the shell on a flat surface before you try to peel them, since this will release the egg shell from the whites more easily.
