Hard Boiled Eggs:

boiled eggs

Hard boiled eggs have well cooked yolks and whites. To make hard boiled eggs, you can use a cooking time of 9 minutes.

One mistake many people do while making hard boiled eggs is over cooking the eggs. If you over cook the eggs, the egg whites will turn rubbery and the egg yolks will turn slightly grey/green in color around the edges which is not appealing in general.

So make sure to follow the recipe to make perfect hard boiled eggs with bright yellow yolks that do not turn green/grey and with perfect cooked, but soft whites.

Soft boiled eggs:

Soft boiled eggs have runny yolks and well cooked whites and you usually need to cook only for about 5 minutes to make soft boiled eggs!

Medium Boiled Eggs:

Medium boiled eggs have a creamy consistency for the yolks that is between hard boiled eggs and soft boiled eggs and you can follow a cooking time of about 7 minutes to make medium boiled eggs.

So here you can read in detail how to make perfect boiled eggs of your preference!

This step is really important to prevent further cooking of the eggs.

Transfer the cooked eggs carefully to the bowl with water and ice cubes for an ice bath so the eggs will cool down and prevent any further cooking.

It is best to use a large spoon and carefully transfer each egg into the ice bath.

It is recommended that the eggs be placed in the ice bath for about 5 minutes of time.

However, I usually place the eggs in the ice bath for several minutes more (about 10 to 12 minutes usually), unless I am in a hurry.

This helps the eggs to cool down really well and it helps with peeling the egg shells very easily.

Once the eggs are cooled enough in the ice bath, you can easily peel off the shells and give a quick rinse in fresh water if required and enjoy them right away or you can store them in food containers and store in refrigerator for another 2 to 3 days!
