spicy roasted cashews
Spicy roasted cashews makes delicious, easy snacks for those who love spicy foods and cashews.
There are different ways you can make spicy roasted nuts like cashews.
In this recipe, we have used jalapeno peppers to add the needed spiciness to cashew nuts. Instead, you can make spicy cashews using red chilies, red chili powder, hot sauce like sriracha, red chili flakes, paprika, black pepper powder etc or you may use other varieties of green chilies based on your preference of spiciness.
If you use spice powders like paprika, black pepper etc, the recipe including cooking method will change since the spice powders will need only a quick roasting as it get roasted very quickly. When you use spice powders instead of chili peppers, keep in mind that the spice powders may burn fast so it is a good idea to mix the nuts and spices together and then roast the seasoned nuts quickly without burning.
If you do not have cashews or if you want to use some other kind of nuts in this jalapeno roasted spicy nuts recipe, you may use almonds, pecans, peanuts etc which also will taste delicious. However, the cooking times for other nuts may slightly vary and so you will need to adjust the cooking time to avoid the nuts from burning. For example, if you use peanuts, remember that peanuts get roasted much faster than cashews so you will need to quickly roast them! If you love cashews and if you have cashews at home, do try this recipe with raw chasew nuts itself, as it tastes the best if you use cashews.

substitute for jalapenos
In this recipe, you may substitute jalapenos with any other green chilies of your choice. Jalapeno peppers have medium level spiciness, so they are not very mild nor too spicy. That is the reason why I chose jalapenos for this recipe so it is just enough spicy. If you want it to be more spicy, you may choose peppers like serrano peppers. If you want it less spicy, you may use even less spicier peppers like poblano peppers.
