    Frozen Purple, White, Green, & Orange Cauliflowers Roasted In Oven

    Frozen rainbow cauliflower florets include a colorful mix or combination of purple, orange, white and green cauliflower florets!

    Roasted rainbow cauliflower florets retain it's color as well, giving a delicious, easy, quick, nutritious, healthy and colorful vegetable side dish.

    What Is Rainbow Cauliflower?

    Rainbow cauliflower is a colorful mix of purple, green, white, orange cauliflower florets.

    In this case, we use two bags of frozen mixed cauliflower florets with all these colors, to make easy, delicious and nutritious oven roasted veggies for dinner.

    White cauliflower is the most popular and familiar type of cauliflower. After that, purple cauliflower is also quite popular, which is similar in color to purple cabbage.

    In these bags of frozen rainbow cauliflower, other than white and purple color cauliflower, we also have orange and green colored cauliflower florets!

    Purple cauliflower: Purple cauliflower has the same pigments found in purple cabbage and is a very healthy variety of cauliflower.

    It is higher in antioxidants than the popular white cauliflower!

    Green cauliflower: Green cauliflower variety is also referred as broccoflower sometimes and it has chlorophyll just like green leaves which makes it look green in color!

    The fibre content of green cauliflower is higher than other varieties including white cauliflower.

    They also make great substitutes for broccoli in many recipes!

    Orange cauliflower: Orange cauliflower contains the pigment betacarotene just like other orange vegetables like carrots and is a very healthy variety of cauliflower!

    So now that you have read about purple cauliflower, orange cauliflower and green cauliflower, it is much easier to understand what is rainbow cauliflower, as it is a mixed product containing cauliflower varieties of different colors.

    Do purple, orange, green cauliflowers taste the same or different from white cauliflower?

    The mix of variety cauliflower florets including purple cauliflower, green cauliflower (broccoflower) and orange cauliflower taste more or less the same as white cauliflower regardless of the color.

    And they are great for roasting, sauteeing, steaming etc or you can use them in soups stews etc just like we use white cauliflower.

    How To Make Oven Roasted Rainbow cauliflower?

    To make oven roasted rainbow cauliflower, we use the following ingredients.

    frozen rainbow cauliflower florets 19 oz (2 bags of 9.5 oz frozen rainbow cauliflower florets)

    salt adjust to taste

    lemon juice 2 tablespoons

    olive oil 2 tablespoons

    garlic powder 1 teaspoon

    black pepper powder ½ teaspoon (adjust to your preference)

    Step by step instructions

    Preheat oven to 450 degree Fahrenheit.

    Place the rainbow cauliflower florets in a large baking pan or skillet or casserole. I used an oven safe non stick skillet here for roasting the colorful cauliflower in the oven.

    Add salt, lemon juice, olive oil and spices, mix well using a large spoon or spatula so the seasoning is well mixed with all the florets evenly.

    Arrange the florets in a single layer in the baking pan.

    Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes until the florets are well roasted and beginning to brown!

    You may add little more lemon juice, black pepper etc or you can also add other seasonings like red chili flakes if you wish, to make it more spicy!

    You can also add the roasted rainbow colored cauliflower to salads, pasta, rice etc to make the dishes look more colorful and also to make them more healthy!

    Can you substitute frozen rainbow cauliflower florets?

    If you do not have frozen rainbow cauliflower florets, you can use fresh cauliflower too.

    If you use fresh cauliflower, the roasting time will slightly reduce, so it is a good idea to check the cauliflower after about 20 minutes of baking time.

    Also, you may use any color cauliflower that is available to you.

    If you use just purple cauliflower or orange cauliflower or green cauliflower or the usual white cauliflower it should work fine.

    Just make sure to use almost the same amount of cauliflower to use in this recipe or you will need to adjust the seasonings as needed.
