    roasted potatoes and onions

To make crispy browned potatoes and onions, we roast them at a very high temperature at 450 degree! Also, we make sure to add oil to the potatoes (along with other seasonings) which will help the potatoes turn crispy on the outside while still soft on the inside. While roasting the cubed potatoes to make crispy potatoes, make sure to use a large sized baking sheet since you don't want to crowd them in the baking pan.To ensure the best crispy texture, it is important you layer the potatoes and onions in a single layer in the pan. Also make sure you don't cut the potatoes in large cubes, if you want them to be crispy!

what kind of potatoes are best in this recipe - substitute ideas

In this recipe, I have used yellow potatoes or yukon gold potatoes which works well. If you want to use other varieties of potatoes, you can use other varieties of yellow potatoes or you may use russet potatoes or red potatoes etc. However, the baking times may slightly vary based on the kind of potato that you use. Also, it is important to make sure to use medium sized cubes here for the best results!

So here is how you can make easy, quick and delicious roasted potatoes and onions in the oven.

how to store this potato onion dish in fridge?

Roasted potatoes and onions tastes the best while they are baked and still warm from the oven! However, if you are not serving the roasted potatoes and onions immediately pr on the same day of preparation, it is a good idea to transfer them to food containers and keep refrigerated where they stay fresh for about another 3 to 4 days. It is important you reheat the dish just before it's time to serve, so it tastes the best.

You may also freeze the roasted potatoes and onions in freezer safe bags to save for even longer time, if you want to make this as part of your freezer meal planning.

how to reheat potatoes and onions?

To reheat any leftovers, place them in microwave safe plates (in a single layer), and reheat for about 1 to 2 minutes until they are warm. Make sure not to crowd the microwave safe plates to ensure even heating. You can reaheat the dish in multiple batches if you have a lot of leftovers which is unlikely since we are making a pretty small batch here!
