How long to roast baby red potatoes in the oven?

In this oven roasted baby red potatoes recipe, we roast the baby potatoes without boiling them first (without parboiling the potatoes in advance), so the process is much quicker and easier to do from scratch.

roasted baby red potatoes

We directly roast the baby red potatoes in the oven and at 450 degree Fahrenheit, we roast them for about 30 minutes in total!

That’ how long you need to roast these little red potatoes to make them golden brown in color, delicious, with a soft baked inside texture.

Keep in mind that, we do not bake the baby potatoes whole though, we slice them in halves before baking them so they are completely baked and have the perfect texture.

Should you peel baby red potatoes before roasting?

No, you do not need to peel baby red potatoes before roasting or baking in the oven to make this easy oven roasted or baked potatoes.

While I like the texture of potatoes without the skins in some recipes, like while I boil them and add to curry or stews (usually), the peels actually give a nice texture to these oven roasted red potatoes.

Just make sure to wash the potatoes very well so there is no dirt or soil residue in the skin.

You may also scrub the potatoes, if needed and then wash the potatoes very well.

However, if there’s too much dirt that you don’t like keeping the peels, feel free to peel the potatoes before baking them!

Also, if there’s any sprouts or tiny growths in the potatoes (sometimes this happens when the potatoes sit in the kitchen counter for a while), make sure to cut them off before roasting the potatoes.
