Tips To Make Milkshake Without Ice Cream

There are many ingredients which you can use to add the creamy deliciousness to your milkshake even if you make the milkshake without ice cream.

Make sure you use whole milk (if using dairy products) and fresh cream(optional) if possible.

You can also make milkshake without ice cream or even milk, by using vegan ingredients like soy milk (I sometimes use soy milk in the recipe), almond milk or coconut milk and nut butters along with fresh fruits and ice.

One of my suggestions is to use Nutella spread or Hershey’s spread as a replacement for ice cream in chocolate based milkshake recipes.

If you love the taste of nutella which is a chocolate spread with hazelnuts you can use nutella which will give you a nutty chocolate flavored delicious milkshake.

Hershey’s spread gives delicious chocolate spread with almonds, so if you love an almond flavored chocolate spread for your milkshake, go for it!

You can also use good quality nut butters like cashew butter or almond butter or peanut butter if you love them which is sure to give a rich nutty flavor to your milkshake.

Make sure you are not allergic to nuts if you are using nutella, Hershey’s or any nut butters as they all contain nuts!

If you are using pure nut butters make sure you go for the unsalted nut butters as the salty nut butters can alter the taste of milkshakes.

Alternatively you can also use ready made milkshake powders to make easy quick milkshakes without ice cream and they are available to buy online.

If you are skipping fresh cream, I suggest you to use any good quality nut butter of your choice.

We can use pure fresh maple syrup or sugar for adding enough sweetness to the milkshake. 

You can adjust the amount of sweetener based on the sweetness of the apples you are using and also based on your personal preference.

Also try to use sweet apples like pink lady apples if possible and try to avoid tart and very sour apples.

How To Make Apple Milkshake Without Ice Cream?

We use the following ingredients to make easy and delicious apple milkshake without ice cream.

Ingredients to make apple milkshake

2 medium sized pink lady apples (or use another variety of sweet apples)

2 cups whole milk chilled

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons sugar adjust to your preference

1 tablespoon cream optional

Step by step instructions

Peel and core the pink lady apples (discard the seeds), slice into small or medium sized pieces.

Add the apple slices to the blender along with the rest of the ingredients.
Blend until smooth.

Pour the delicious milkshake to glass cups and enjoy the drink while it is still cold and chilled! If saving for later use, you should refrigerate the milkshake for best results.

Notes: You can use vanilla flavored milk instead of using milk and vanilla extract separately.

If you use the vanilla flavored milk which is already sweetened, you may not need extra sweetener, or adjust the amount as needed.

Adding fresh cream (or you may use nut butters like almond or cashew butter) are totally optional and do it only if you like the flavors, but they really enhance the flavors and make the milkshake more rich and delicious too.

Variations:

Apple milkshake is very easy to adapt and you can modify the recipe to suit your preferences or even add more flavors.

In this recipe for milkshake, we didn’t use any ice cream.

But if you want to add ice cream, feel free to add ice cream too!

The addition of ice cream to this already delicious apple milkshake will make it even more filling, rich and calorie dense.

If you want to add ice cream, you may choose vanilla ice cream which you can use one or two cups as you like.

Apple Banana Milkshake:

If you wish, you can add one ripe banana (not overly ripe) to the apple milkshake to make it more thick and even more creamy and delicious.

Apple banana milkshake is also super easy to make at home and you can make it with ice cream or without ice cream as you like.

Can you make apple milkshake vegan?

It is very easy to make the apple milkshake vegan. Instead of using regular milk, use any plant based milk like almond milk or oat milk for the best results.

If you like the flavor of coconut milk, you may even go for coconut milk.

Soy milk goes great in this recipe as a replacement for regular milk and I have made this milkshake many time using soy milk and maple syrup, which is very, very delicious and more healthy as well.
