What kind of apples are best for milkshakes?

Apples are very versatile fruits and different varieties of apples can be used in a lot of recipes for drinks like mikshakes, breakfast smoothies and more.

To make milkshake, you may use any of your favorite kind of apples or any leftover apples that you have at home.

The flavor & sweetness of the milkshake will slightly vary depending on the kind of apples that you use.

My favorite kind of apples to use for this milkshake recipe are pink lady, gala apples, red delicious, honeycrisp, fuji etc though you can use other varieties as well.

It is a good idea to use apples that are more sweet in taste rather than using sour tasting ones for the best results.

What kind of peanut butter is best for milkshakes?

I used creamy peanut butter to make the milkshake which blends in so smooth with the rest of the ingredients.

However, you may also use crunchy peanut butter if you can blend it smooth or if you like small bits of crunchy peanut taste & texture in the milkshake. It all comes down to what your preference is!

You may even use almond butter or cashew butter in place of peanut butter for a different flavor other than peanut butter.

So here is how you can make this easy, quick apple peanut butter maple milkshake at home.

How to make apple peanut butter maple milkshake?

How to store apple peanut butter milkshake?

Apple peanut butter milkshake tastes the best when served immediately after preparation.

However, it is perfectly fine to save this in the refrigerator if you want to serve this a few hours later.

If you are not serving the milkshake immediately after preparing, make sure to transfer it to the refrigerator for serving later.

You may store this in the freezer too (on ice cube trays) for more longer storage, however, I do not recommend storing this for longer (more than a few hours) since it tastes the best when served fresh on the same day of preparation.

Can you make this milkshake vegan?

Yes, just like many other milkshakes & smoothies that use plant based milks, you may use alternatives for the milk to make this milkshake vegan.

Best substitutes for milk for this recipe would be almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk etc though you may also use coconut milk if you like the flavor of coconut milk in drinks.

Can you add ice cream to this milkshake recipe?

Sure, adding ice cream will only make the milkshake even more rich, creamier and more delicious, though this is not necessary.

Even without any ice cream, the milkshake is delicious.

If you wish, you may add one scoop of vanilla ice cream or peanut butter ice cream to make the flavors shine more.

You may also add in more flavors like strawberry ice cream, banana ice cream, chocolate ice cream etc for even more varieties of apple milkshake.

You may reduce the amount of milk to about half the quantity, if you are adding the ice cream.

Also you may reduce the amount of sweetener in the recipe if you are using ice cream.

Substitutes for maple syrup in milkshake

Maple syrup is the best sweetener for this milkshake because the flavors of maple syrup pairs very nicely with the peanut butter and also the apple cinnamon combination.

However, if you do not have maple syrup, you may use honey or sugar as the sweetener.

Also you may adjust the amount of sweeteners based on the sweeteness of the apples and also your preference for sweeteness.
