Pineapple Juice Health Benefits

fresh pineapple juice

Pineapples are high in Vitamin C and Vitamin B6 and they also have antioxidants called flavonoids.

When enjoyed in moderation, they are known to be good for improving immunity as well as they are good for fighting inflammation.

However, if you have a pineapple allergy or certain medical conditions, it may not be safe to consume pineapples or pineapple juice.

If you are pregnant, some people believe it may not be a good idea to consume pineapples and pineapple juice.

Also, pineapple is high in sugar content so it may not be a good idea to consume pineapple juice if you have conditions like diabetes.

I am not a doctor so if you have any medical conditions or if you are concerned about any possible side effects, you need to check with your doctor before consuming pineapple or pineapple drinks.

Also, in this recipe we also use sugar which may not be very healthy as well, so if you do not want to use sugar, you may skip the sugar or use another natural sweetener like pure fresh maple syrup or honey as you like.

Cutting Fresh Pineapples

Though we love fresh pineapples, cutting pineapples can be quite challenging if you are not used to doing it.

If you know how to cut the pineapples in cubes or wedges, that is great and you can use the sliced pineapples in this recipe to make the fresh juice.

I prefer using a pineapple slicer which helps to make the job much easier and helps to slice the pineapple in wedges!

So once you have fresh pineapple slices, it is super easy to make the juice so let us see how to make the pineapple juice from fresh pineapples!

How To Tell If A Pineapple Is Ripe?

To make pineapple juice, you need to make sure to use ripe pineapples.

If you have green, unripe pineapples, you may wait until they are ripe enough to be used.

Ripe pineapples usually have a pleasant smell, will look light yellow color outside (with some green color as well which is normal) and when you touch, they will be slightly soft.

Unripe pineapples will be hard when you press with your fingers and they will look bright green in color unlike the ripe ones which are slightly soft and have golden yellow color outside or a mix or yellow and green colors.

Either you can look for ripe pineapples in the market, so you can right away buy them and use them to make juice or if you happen to buy unripe pineapple you may store them in your kitchen counter for few days where it usually can ripe easily.

So here is how you can easily make fresh pineapple juice at home.
