Tropical Flavored Banana Juice With Added Citrus Fruits

banana orange juice

Banana juice is a wonderful tropical drink made using ripe bananas as the main ingredient.

banana orange juice

Make sure to use good quality, large, sweet and ripe bananas to make the best banana juice.

Also make sure to use the best, seedless, sweet oranges in this recipe for the best results.

banana orange juice

If you do not have mandarin oranges, you can use any seedless oranges that are sweet in taste or you can just remove the seeds yourself before adding the oranges to the blender.

Because, if any seeds go into the blender while you make the juice, it can turn bitter.

So make sure to remove any seeds from the oranges before you make the juice!

You might see it is difficult to find pure banana juice even in stores, this is because banana juice made from just bananas may sometimes taste very starchy and not very appealing.

So it is important to add some mild citrus flavors to the banana juice to make it taste really good!

In fact, banana juice with added oranges and lemon juice is not only just good or better, it is one of the best tasting tropical juice you can make at home using bananas!

Can You Make Pure Banana Juice Without Oranges?

If you do not want to use oranges, you can still make tasty banana juice just by using ripe bananas and lemon juice!

Make sure not to skip the lemon juice in this recipe, since that is necessary to add the required citrus flavors.

Substitute Ideas & Variations:

If you do not want to use oranges, you may also slightly increase the amount of lemon juice!

Another great substitute for oranges in this recipe is using pineapples! If using pineapple, make sure to use sweet pineapple chunks to make the juice.

You can use just about 1 cup of pineapples in this recipe, instead of oranges if you want the tropical pineapple flavor (do not skip lemon juice even if you are using pineapple!).

You may substitute the oranges withe fresh pineapple slices or you can use canned pineapple too.

Another great option is to use chilled pineapple juice in place of water, to add the pineapple flavors.

If you have store bought pineapple juice at home, you can substitute water with pineapple juice or you can substitute half the amount of water withe pineapple juice, depending on how much pineapple flavor you want in the juice.

Also you may use coconut water (not coconut milk though that will make a great smoothie or milkshake like drink!) instead of plain water for a more tropical flavor if you wish!

So here is how you can make easy, delicious, cooling and refreshing tropical flavored banana orange juice at home!

How To Make Banana Orange Juice?

banana orange juice

To make banana orange juice drink at home, we use the following ingredients.

ingredients

bananas 1 large chilled

orange 1 small sized chilled (I used seedless mandarin orange, equivalent to about 1 cup)

water 2 cups chilled

ice cubes 3 to 4 optional

Step by step instructions

Peel the chilled banana, roughly slice and add the slices to the blender.

Also add the orange segments (chilled) to the blender.

Add sugar, lemon juice and water also to the blender.

Blend the contents for few seconds.

banana orange juice

You shouldn’t be blending this until smooth or for more time, since we are only making a juice and we don’t want the fruit fibers to blend it’s flavors with the juice.

Once the contents are blended for few seconds, filter the prepared juice through a good strainer.

strain the juice through filter

You can use a spoon to gently stir the contents in the strainer which will make the juice to go through the strainer more easily.

Once the juice is strained into a different container or jug, you may discard the residue pulp collected in the strainer.

Transfer the prepared, filtered fruit juice to glass cups (with ice cubes added if desired), and serve immediately for best results!
