This is because the flavor of sesame oil may be a bit too much for this simple fried rice without much ingredients.
So if you wish to replace the butter with any oil, I suggest using canola oil or peanut oil for the neutral flavor (though using butter will give the best flavor).
However, if you wish, you may also make it with sesame oil also if you like the flavor.

Since we are making this especially for kids, this is enough for two servings.
Also this is a simple egg fried rice made without using a wok, since I used a very good quality iron skillet.
You may also use any good quality medium sized pan that can hold the cooked egg fried rice.
However, if you have a wok, its even great to use that to prepare this egg fried rice!
How To Make Simple Egg Fried Rice Without Soy Sauce Or Vegetables?
We need the following ingredients to make simple egg fried rice without vegetables.
Ingredients For Simple Egg Fried Rice
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon whole milk
1.5 cups leftover cooked white rice
salt as needed
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
black pepper powder a pinch, optional
Step By Step Instructions
Whisk the eggs very well in a bowl, add little salt to taste and also add the milk and whisk until well combined.
Add one tablespoon of butter ro a medium sized skillet (or wok or pan) and heat it (I used a good quality iron skillet).
Transfer the whisked egg mixture to the skillet and let it cook slightly.
Then scramble the egg mixture using a good spoon or spatula into slightly large or medium sized pieces. Do not scramble the eggs into too small pieces.
Now add the cooked white rice also to the skillet, enough salt and also the garlic powder, mix everything well.
Also add the remaining butter (or use oil) and stir fry the contents for about 4 to 5 minutes until the rice is lightly fried and flavorful.
Adjust the heat between low and medium as needed and make sure to stir fry the rice very well to get the perfect texture of fried rice.
Finally add the black pepper powder, stir in and lightly fry again and serve hot!
As I mentioned earlier, this simple egg fried rice was made without any soy sauce, but if you wish you may add a little soy sauce (about 1 teaspoon enough for this amount of rice) or coconut aminos as a substitute for soy sauce and stir fry the rice in the sauce for about a minute more.
But even without soy sauce, this is simple and delicious with just eggs, stir fried rice and mild spices.
Can You Add Vegetables To This Recipe?
Yes, though this is a simple egg fried rice without any veggies which can be made in a jiffy, you can always add veggies to this easily.
To add vegetables to this, chop few mixed vegetables in small size (a mix of carrots, beans and peas will be great, but you may also use veggies like cabbage, cauliflower etc) and add the chopped vegetables to the scrambled eggs and cook lightly before adding the rice.
You may use chopped fresh vegetables or frozen vegetables mix as you like and also add a little corn kernels to make it even yummier!
You will need only about ½ cup of chopped vegetables for this amount of rice, if you want to add vegetables to this fried rice.
Adding a little chopped spring onions will also take this simple egg fried rice to the next level by easily adding more flavor to the fried rice.
For this amount of rice, 1 to 2 tablespoons of thinly chopped spring onions will be perfect and you can a little after scrambling the eggs and then add a little more for garnishing once you have prepared the fried rice.
