So if you do not want the taste of bananas or banana flavor in your berry smoothie, do try this easy greek yogurt smoothie with blueberries.

However, if you are not a fan of greek yogurt taste, you may also substitute greek yogurt with your favorite yogurt, plain or fruit based.

If you used already sweetened flavored yogurt to make smoothies, you can reduce the amount of honey in this recipe.

Also, if you use flavored yogurt, keep in mind that the flavor of the smoothie will be affected by the flavor of the yogurt as well.

Frozen Blueberries Vs Fresh Blueberries For Smoothie

You may use fresh or frozen blueberries to make the smoothie, however, using frozen berries will add more texture to the smoothie and if you like the frosty, thick smoothies it is a good idea to use frozen blueberries to make the smoothie.

Fresh blueberries also make great smoothies and usually my kids prefer using fresh fruits since the smoothies made out of fresh fruits are more easier to drink as it's more liquid in state compared to smoothies using frozen fruits.

So basically, it is just a personal preference based on whether you want to use frozen or fresh berries, and the most popular way of making smoothies is to use frozen!

Wild Blueberries Vs Regular Blueberries

If you are using frozen berries, wild blueberries that comes frozen will be great to make this smoothie.

Fresh regular blueberries is what I most often use in this recipe and that tastes delicious as well.

So it is up to you to decide whether you want to use frozen wild blueberries or fresh blueberries as they both work just fine.

As I mentioned early, frozen blueberries works great and the best if you are looking for the thick, frosty texture for smoothies which is the most popular.

Wild blueberries are small in size and they are perfect to be used in smoothies as well.
