curry roasted frozen sweet english peas with onions & spices

Green peas and onions make a very nice combination with the sweet flavor from peas and onions that goes great when served with rice or you can add it to pasta, use it for sandwich, burrito fillings etc.

In fact, green peas is one of the most versatile green vegetables that is kid friendly, quick and easy to make for dinner, nutritious, healthy and delicious.

They are also known by the names garden peas, shell peas, sweet peas, English peas etc! Frozen peas is even more easier to use and store as you can conveniently store them in the freezer for longer periods without worrying about using it up quickly. Peas also comes dried, which has even more shelf life and can be used in many recipes, though you need to soak the dried in peas in water for softening them prior to cooking. In this easy curry roasted peas with onions, we add Indian spices like garam masala or curry powder to add some unique flavors, but you may skip that too and adjust the spices to your preference as you like!

I also have this easy, spicy curry roasted cauliflower if you love roasted vegetables with spices! I almost always have frozen peas (and also fresh and dried ones occasionally) at home so they can be added to rice, pasta or you can simply saute them in butter or olive oil (after thawing) or just roast them in the oven like we do here, where even thawing is not needed! Roasted peas with onions makes a yummy side dish that you can easily prepare for dinner or lunch and you can adjust the spices to your liking.

In fact, you may skip some of the spices if you don't want and just usee oil, salt, black pepper, garlic and lemon for a more simple, yummy vegetable side dish! I have used some more spices in this roasted peas and onions recipe, which adds even more flavor, but as I mentioned, feel free to adjust or skip some of the spices based on your preferences. I have tried using yellow onions and white onions in this recipe, and while yellow onions add a sweet flavor to the roasted peas, white onions add more savoury, crunchy texture to the dish. If you prefer a mild sweet flavor, you can use yellow onions since the sweet flavor and soft texture of yellow onions also go great with the soft & sweet slightly sweet peas in this recipe.

You can also use red onions which also works very well with peas! I have also got this roasted broccoli and onions if you love broccoli recipes!
