Though in some recipes, you might need to thaw the frozen broccoli before you cook them, here we are going to look into a super simple and easy broccoli stir fry where you do not need to thaw the frozen broccoli.

It is also very nutritious and healthy, just like fresh broccoli.

If you do not want to heat the oven, you can also cook the broccoli in instant pot, air fryer etc.

One of the most easy and common method to cook frozen broccoli is to cook them on stove top using a pan, skillet or pot.

How to make frozen broccoli taste good?

We use some simple seasonings to make frozen broccoli taste good.

Salt, black pepper powder, olive oil (or another oil or melted butter), garlic, onion powder etc are few things you can easily use to season frozen broccoli, whether you steam them, roast them or stir fry them on stove top.

You can also use a little lemon juice to add extra flavor to make the frozen broccoli taste even better and more flavorful!

Other options include red chili flakes, shredded cheese etc or any of your favorite seasoning for vegetables!

Yes! Frozen broccoli is healthy and nutritious! You might wonder if frozen veggies like broccoli are as healthy as the fresh broccoli.

And yes they are! Frozen broccoli is not only healthy and nutritious, but they are delicious too when prepared in the right way!

Also they are very convenient and easy to use since we get a bag of frozen florets which can be directly used to make stir fries and more.

No need of chopping or preparations needed for frozen vegetables, which makes it super easy and convenient to use them for easy dinners or meal preparation over busy weekdays.

So here is how you can make easy, delicious broccoli stir fry using frozen broccoli florets from a bag!

How to cook frozen broccoli on stove top?

We use the following ingredients to make easy, delicious frozen broccoli stir fry.

frozen broccoli florets 12 oz

salt adjust to taste

garlic powder or minced ½ teaspoon

black pepper powder ¼ teaspoon (adjust to your preference)

oil 1 tablespoon

lemon juice 1 tablespoon

water 2 tablespoons

In a large skillet or frying pan, place the frozen broccoli florets.

Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons of water and cook in medium heat for about 2 to 3 minutes until the water from the frozen florets melt.

Once the water is all melted, add salt, lemon juice and garlic, mix well with the broccoli.

Cover with lid and cook in low heat for about 4 to 5 minutes or until the broccoli is cooked and soft to your preference.

If there’s no water left in the pan, you may sprinkle a little more water so the broccoli will be cooked without burning at the bottom of the pan.

Usually this is not necessary since there is enough water from the frozen florets.

Once it’s cooked, open the lid, stir well and if there is any water content left in the pan, cook in medium heat until the water is all evaporated.

Once the water content is all gone, add the oil and stir fry the cooked broccoli for another 2 to 3 minutes until it’s lightly browned.

You may add more garlic or shredded cheese or other seasonings of your preference as you desire.

Sprinkle black pepper powder and serve hot with rice or any meal for a delicious vegetable side dish!

Notes: The idea is to cook the frozen broccoli with little water first and then once the water content is all gone, stir fry the cooked broccoli with little oil.

It is important to make sure you do not add any oil to the broccoli while it’s still frozen, as this is important for safety reasons.

With this method of stove top stir fry recipe using frozen broccoli, only add the oil once the water content is all gone from the frozen broccoli.

We just wait for the water from the frozen broccoli to melt in the heat of the pan, then cook the broccoli in little water and then once the water is all evaporated and gone, add little oil to stir fry the broccoli.
