Bananas and cream oatmeal is popular instant oatmeal that you can buy from stores or online.
However, you can also prepare simple and delicious bananas and cream oatmeal porridge at home from scratch, using steel cut oats or rolled oats as you like.
In this creamy oatmeal porridge, I have used old fashioned steel cut oats to make banana oatmeal porridge from scratch.

So here is how you can make easy, delicious and creamy banana oatmeal porridge at home.
How to make creamy banana oatmeal?
To make creamy, easy, delicious homemade banana oatmeal, we use the following ingredients.

oatmeal 1 cup
bananas 2 large
cinnamon ½ teaspoon
vanilla 1 teaspoon
water 1 cup
milk ½ cup (may use little more once the oats is prepared)
heavy cream 4 tablespoons
maple syrup 3 tablespoons
Step by step instructions
Mash one of the bananas (or slice) and keep it aside.
Add the oatmeal to a saucepan.
Also add the water and as the mixture begins to boil, add mashed banana, maple syrup, and also milk.
Stir well, reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 2 minutes until the oats is cooked and soft. Make sure to stir in between so the oats don't burn at the bottom of the pan.
Once the oats is cooked, add cinnamon and vanilla also, stir well, cook for another one more minute and then transfer the cooked oats to a cool place.
Add the heavy cream, stir in to combine with the banana oatmeal for a delicious banana and cream oatmeal.
You may also stir in little bit more milk or heavy cream if desired, for more creamy texture.
You may also stir in about 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter if you like, to make peanut butter banana oatmeal!
Transfer the prepared banana oatmeal to serving bowls, slice the other banana and top the oatmeal with banana slices.
Alternatively, you can add the two bananas while cooking the oatmeal itself, for more banana flavor in the oatmeal. Serve warm or chilled as you like.
