    Hokkien noodle stir fry with garlic and sweet green peas is super easy, simple, quick dinner that is also delicious! We use frozen peas and instant pre-cooked hokkien noodles pouches in this recipe, which makes this recipe so quick and easy. You can serve this as a side dish or main dish for dinner along with other side dishes like vegetables, eggs or other proteins. This is also a vegetarian meatless noodles recipe which is so easy to make!

    I only used frozen sweet peas as a vegetable added to this stir fry, but you may add other veggies like mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots etc as you like or add in some proteins like tofu, eggs or any protein of your choice to make the dish even more rich and delicious.

    With just simple frozen sweet peas and pre-cooked noodles, this recipe is so easy to follow and you can make your dinner in no time!

    What Is Hokkien Stir Fry Noodles?

    Hokkien stir fry noodles is a popular variety of Chinese noodles which is also known by the name Fujian noodles.

    These noodles is made of wheat and it is available as fresh or dried noodles and you can cook them following the package instructions.

    Also you can add a variety of vegetables, proteins etc to the noodles to make it more flavorful and nutritious.

    In this recipe, we used instant pre-cooked hokkien noodles so it is even more easy and quick to make dinner using them!

    The instant noodles is stir fried with cooked peas, garlic, soy sauce and other seasonings to make quick, delicious noodles for dinner or any meal!

    Substitutes for hokkien noodles:

    If you want to substitute hokkien noodles with some other noodles, you may try spaghetti noodles, ramen noodles, hakka noodles, egg noodles, Japanese noodles etc or any wheat noodles of your choice.

    The texture of the noodles is kind of narrow and thin so make sure not to use any wide noodles to substitute this.

    How To Make Hokkien Stir Fry Noodles With Sweet Peas?

    To make simple, easy hokkien stir fry noodles with sweet peas, we use the following ingredients.

    Ingredients

    hokkien noodles 800 grams pre-cooked (I used two 14.2 oz instant packages with each package having two 7.1 oz pouches of noodles)

    oil 3 tablespoons

    soy sauce 2 tablespoons

    garlic powder 2 teaspoons

    dried minced onions ½ cup

    salt adjust to taste

    butter 2 tablespoons

    sweet peas (green peas) 12 oz (I used frozen)

    water ½ cup

    Optional topping ideas:

    fried eggs

    lettuce leaves

    Step by step instructions

    Add the frozen sweet peas to a pot or pan or wok (ideally a wok is recommended but it is not necessary here).

    Also add salt and garlic, cook in medium heat until the water is all evaporated from the frozen peas (if you are using fresh peas, you don't need to wait for water to evaporated so you can directly go to the next step).

    Add 2 tablespoons of oil and dried minced onions, mix well with the sweet peas.

    Stir fry the contents for about 2 to 3 minutes until the peas is almost cooked.

    Add the noodles from the pouches, and also add the water to the pan.

    Cover the pan with lid and cook for about 2 minutes.

    Open the pan and toss the noodles so the noodles will be separated (we used pre-cooked noodles here which sticks together in the pouch).

    Add soy sauce, butter and the remaining one tablespoon of oil, stir to combine with the noodles.

    Stir fry the noodles for another 2 more minutes until all ingredients are combined evenly.

    Serve hot with sides or toppings like fried eggs, scrambled eggs, other proteins, vegetables like lettuce or any veggies, tofu etc as you like for a really quick, easy, simple and delicious dinner.
